Some children need a developmental and behavioral assessment before beginning certain services. Serene Behavioral Center can help families understand assessment options and the process for accessing appropriate care. A Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Evaluation (CMDE) is an assessment that may be used to help determine eligibility for services under Minnesota's Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) benefit. The evaluation may include a review of developmental history, conversations with caregivers, direct observation, identification of strengths and areas of need, and recommendations for services. Serene Behavioral Center offers or coordinates CMDE assessments as appropriate. Our team can discuss whether an assessment is needed and which next steps may apply to the family's situation. Families who already have an assessment are encouraged to contact us to discuss whether it meets applicable requirements and what is needed before services can begin. Assessment and treatment eligibility depend on individual clinical, coverage, and program requirements. Contact Serene Behavioral Center for help understanding the process.
