What is in-home ABA therapy?
Therapy takes place in your child's home, where everyday routines offer opportunities to practice useful skills. Serene currently provides in-home ABA services only.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis to receive services?
Eligibility depends on clinical and coverage requirements, including appropriate assessment and documentation. Our team can help you understand the next steps.
What insurance plans do you accept?
Serene currently lists Medical Assistance (Minnesota Medicaid), Hennepin Health, and UCare. Please contact us to confirm coverage and current network participation.
How do I enroll my child?
Start by contacting our team. We'll explain insurance verification, any required assessments, treatment planning, and the steps toward in-home services.

Applied Behavior Analysis is an evidence-based approach that uses principles of learning and behavior to help children with autism and related developmental needs develop meaningful everyday skills.

Telehealth options
Some EIDBI services may be delivered by telehealth when clinically appropriate and permitted. Ask Serene whether any remote caregiver training is currently available.
Serene's confirmed service model is in-home ABA. Community-based appointments and telehealth availability have not been confirmed and are not advertised here as active offerings.
Understanding the EIDBI benefit
What EIDBI may help cover.
The state benefit includes several service categories. Your child's eligibility and which services Serene offers are determined individually.
CMDE evaluation
Developmental and behavioral evaluation and updates when medically necessary.
Treatment planning
Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) development and progress monitoring.
Direct intervention
Individual or eligible group-based support as appropriate to the child.
Caregiver training
Coaching and counseling to help families build skills between sessions.
Coordinated care
Care conferences and clinical oversight with qualified providers.

Understand coverage and eligibility
Minnesota's EIDBI benefit may be available through Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare, MA-TEFRA, or another qualifying program. Contact Serene separately to verify which health plans it currently accepts.

If your child does not yet have an autism spectrum disorder or related-condition diagnosis, ask your child's healthcare provider about an evaluation. The CMDE process may also help clarify diagnostic eligibility.
Arrange a CMDE
A Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Evaluation (CMDE) establishes whether EIDBI is medically necessary. Use the state provider directory to locate CMDE services, or ask Serene for help identifying options.

Work with qualified clinicians to develop an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) addressing your child's strengths, meaningful goals, treatment approach, and recommended schedule.
Obtain needed authorizations
Your provider requests approval from the health plan or state for intervention and other services that require authorization. CMDE, ITP development and some other services have different authorization rules.
Begin personalized in-home sessions
Once eligibility and applicable approvals are in place, your team works with you on goals, practical skills, and routines in your child's home.
Review progress and adjust care
Families and clinicians regularly review progress data and update goals or service recommendations as your child's needs change.

We offer or coordinate CMDE assessments, as appropriate, and can help explain the available options and what may be needed before in-home services begin.

Minnesota's EIDBI benefit may be available to eligible people under age 21 through Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, MA-TEFRA, or another qualifying health program.
Serene currently lists MA, Hennepin Health, and UCare for its own services. Coverage for your child's specific plan and services must be verified directly.

- Where will sessions happen, and how many hours are recommended?
- How will you include our language, culture, and family goals?
- How often will we review progress and receive written reports?
- Is there a waiting list, and how does scheduling work?
Important to know
No incentives to enroll
Do not accept cash, gifts, or favors offered to influence your decision to enroll, switch providers, or refer other families. Suspected EIDBI kickbacks and fraud can be reported to Minnesota DHS.
Check provider credentials
Minnesota requires provisional EIDBI agency licensure. You can ask about an agency's current status and confirm program requirements with DHS.
Report a concern
Child maltreatment in an EIDBI program: 651-431-6600 (DHS Licensing). For an adult age 18–21: 1-844-880-1574 (MAARC). To report suspected fraud, contact DHS OIG at 651-431-2650.
